Viola, Gloria, and Nina is an epistolary chapbook magazine containing three letters written to my great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother. It is through these letters that I challenge myself to change my questions from why to how?
How does one move forward when faced with such hardships? How can I change and improve from my past? How can I break this curse?
My mother initiated me into womanhood through grief. She taught me my first lessons. My grandma initiated me into personhood through knowledge. She taught me my first lessons. My great-grandma initiated me into spirit through patience and time. She taught me my first lessons.
For these reasons, I am grateful and pay homage to their efforts. I will never, ever forget.
